Praying, and resting up for the days to come
Today we went to the English Mass at the local church. It was very beautiful. A Capuchin priest was the presider. The rest of the day we rested and packed our bags for tomorrow's bus ride to Masasi. We'll leave at 5:00 a.m.

In Upanga, Dar es Salaam
Another good day for us. S. Mecky accompanied us to the Catholic bookstore where we bought a book with the Mass in Swahili and some books about saints for our class. We also exchanged some money. S. Mecky arranged for our bus tickets to Masasi. We will leave on Monday. The pictures today show the Sisters' home here in Upanga, Dar es Salaam. There are wonderful gardens with flowers as well as vegetables.

Thursday's blog
Today we had the joy of driving to the new school. The pictures show the wonderful progress being made. They may be ready for their first class by February. After walking through the school, we had a snack of sugar cane. And again, we say "Yum!!" This was Sue's first chance to eat sugar right from the cane--beats Hershey's any day.

Wednesday's blog
We arrived safely on Tuesday night. Today was a rest day. Here are some pictures of the kitchen, the cooks, and dinner. Dinner was mushroom soup, chapate (flat bread - yum!) and kuku (chicken). Oranges for dessert. Very yummy dinner!
